Preparing to Enter the MTC

12 Jan

Lauren has asked me, her time and tech challenged mother, to keep her blog going. Before our little vacation, we managed to squeeze in time for an updated family photo. Who do you think she looks the most like?

Lauren needed to have her tendon reattached so her thumb would stay in place.  A week later, doctors replaced the “lobster claw hand wrapping” with a pink cast. It comes off Tuesday, March 1st-Oh Happy Day!

Thumb's Up for Repair

The day after her surgery Lauren was set apart. That means her mission officially began the night before  reporting to the Missionary Training Center or MTC.  She met with her Stake President (local authority) and family and to receive a special blessing. Setting her focus of other things aside to  serve the Lord full time for the next year and a half. The Holy Spirit was very strong at that meeting.  I found it extremely reassuring to know that He is pleased with her deision and will be watching over my baby girl as she serves. She is now officially known as Sister Bryce.

Being Set Apart

Leaving the “world” behind and entering the MTC to hone her Spanish and prepare  to serve. Lauren was only there just short of three weeks and flew to the Arizona Tucson Mission the morning of January 31, 2011.
